Contact Toombs Records Offices

Toombs County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. It cannot confirm a person's custody, release anyone, post bond, retrieve an official booking file, or change a court record. Contact the originating sheriff, police department, corrections agency, or court for an official answer.

Official Toombs Records Contacts

The Toombs County Sheriff's Office is the primary route for current Charles Durst Detention Center custody, county booking records, and a particular booking-photo request. Its published contact block is:

Toombs County Sheriff's Office
357 N.W. Broad St.
Lyons, GA 30436
Main: 912-526-6778
Nonemergency dispatch: 912-526-9292

Records fax: 912-526-3310
Detention: 912-526-1002 ext. 24

The sheriff's open-records page provides the request form and delivery choices. An older official detention brochure lists front-office hours as Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Verify live hours before visiting. The detention center page is the official description and roster gateway.

The Toombs Clerk of Court is at 100 Courthouse Square, Suite 120, Lyons, GA 30436, phone 912-526-3501. Nancy Pittman is listed as Clerk of Superior, State, Juvenile and Magistrate Courts, with nancy.pittman@gscca.org and Monday through Friday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Use the local case search or the Georgia courts directory for disposition questions.

Where Each Question Belongs

Choose the office that created or holds the record. A private reference page cannot move a request from one custodian to another.

  • For a current inmate or a recently booked person, start with the Toombs roster and booking search, then use detention administration or open records if the result is missing.
  • For a particular booking record or photo, use the sheriff's open-records form and identify the full name, date, agency, and desired record. Georgia's booking-photo law may require an affirmation.
  • For a possible warrant or wanted-person tip, use the Most Wanted Fugitives page for the safe sheriff and court routes. Do not confront anyone.
  • For a Vidalia incident report, use Vidalia Police at 912-537-4123 and its city open-records form. County booking material still belongs with the sheriff.
  • For a Lyons incident report, use Lyons Police at 912-526-3638 and the city form. The department's address is 257 N. State St., Lyons, GA 30436.
  • For a Santa Claus city-held administrative question, use City Hall at 25 December Drive, Santa Claus, GA 30436, 912-526-6949, contact@cityofsantaclaus.org. Ask which agency handled an arrest before requesting a booking file.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Georgia Department of Corrections offender search or its open-records office. Federal and immigration custody use the BOP locator and ICE locator.

Questions about news publication belong with the outlet. The Toombs Crime News page identifies The Advance, Southeast Georgia Today, and unofficial county archives, but it cannot correct an agency file or decide a court result.
